Published: April 13, 2021

GREENVILLE, Ill.--The Lady Panthers fell 2-1 in a close battle with Milikin University. Greenville senior, Mo Murphy, had the lone GC goal.

Murphy had 3 shots in the game. Her goal came in the 29th minute when Kency Lopez passed the ball to Kieley Leach who slotted it through the Millikin defense to Murphy. Murphy faked the Millikin goalie and shot the ball straight into the far corner of the open net.

Millikin opened scoring in the 7th minute when Kassidy Copeland scored to bring the game to 1-0. Murphy's goal brought the game to a 1-1 tie heading into halftime. In the second half, Millikin's Jenny Zima sent a cross that hit the far post and ricocheted into the GC net. Zima's goal would prove to be the game winner and the match ended 2-1 favoring Millikin.

GC had 8 shots in the game. Panther 'keeper, Heidi Koehl, was credited with 2 saves.

The team will be back in action on Saturday, September 21 when they travel to Augustana in hopes of improving their 1-5 record.
