Published: April 13, 2021

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.--The Lady Panthers could not capture the road win and fell to the Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers 3-0.

The game started out with GC dominating much of the play but the Panthers couldn't seem to break through the Rose-Hulman defense. In the 34th minute, Rose-Hulman's Rachel Johnstone capitalized on a breakaway opportunity to bring the Fightin' Engineers up 1-0. Later in the half, Rose-Hulman was awarded a PK that was saved by the GC 'keeper, Heidi Koehl.Despite a few great chances for Greenville, the game stayed at 1-0 heading into halftime.

The second half saw the Engineers put in two more goals, one in the 65th minute by Nicky Wheeler and the other, in the 78th minute, by Hayley Gilliam. Those goals brought the game's final score to 3-0 Rose-Hulman.

The Engineers outshot Greenville 11-7 and Koehl made 5 saves in the match.

The loss brings the Lady Panther's record to 1-3. The women will return to their home field on Monday, September 16 as they take on nationally ranked Washington University-St. Louis at 7:00pm.
