GREENVILLE, Ill. - Relying on balanced scoring and a full team effort, the women's basketball team outdistanced Hendrix Friday, as they slid past the Warriors 63-61 in their first game of tournament action.

Greenville jumped out to an early lead behind a team high 11 points by sophomore Laura Hobbie. Transfer junior Emmalee Fladland chipped in nine points of her own in first half action as the Panthers headed to the locker room holding a 31-24 margin at the half.

The second half proved to be a balanced attack from the Lady Panthers as three players reached double digit scoring. Sophomore center Katelyn Wise posted 13 points, five boards, and two blocks as the Panthers sealed the 63-61 victory.

The Warriors of Hendrix were led by senior guard Christina Byler who had a game high 16 points in only 14 minutes of play.
