Women's Basketball Pounces on Principia

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The Greenville women's basketball team found its winning ways again, posting a 73-46 victory over Principia College. Kayla Hyde led the Panthers with 17 points andnine rebounds in 18 minutes.

Hyde led the team in scoring and she, along with Katelyn Wise,recorded the most assists in the game, ending with 9 each. Ieisha Adams collected 8 steals for GC.

Greenville jumped out to an 18 point lead at halftime and never looked back. The hometeam outscored the visitors 38-20 in the firsthalf and 35-26 in the secondhalf, winning the game 73-46.

Principia was led by Becca DeNicholas who netted 20 points. Sarah Corbitt was also impressive for Principia, with 12 points and 7 rebounds in the game.

With the win, Greenville moves to 11-12 (6-8 SLIAC). Principia falls to 2-18 (0-14 SLIAC). The Panthers return to the court Saturday, Feb. 16, when they host MacMurray at 1 p.m. in the final home game of the season.
