GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's basketball team held off a late second half surge from Rhodes  Saturday and clinched their first 3-0 start in 10 years.

Greenville hounded Rhodes defensively in the first half, holding the Lady Lynx to 18 total points and a 22 percent shooting percentage. The Panthers were led by sophomore center Katelyn Wise who pounded Rhodes inside with 12 first half points.

Rhodes turned it up in the second half however, as Lynx freshman forward Sarah Olds caught fire from deep. Olds hit 5-of-6 three point field goals in the second half, and her final three-pointer cut the Panthers lead to 58-56 with 13 seconds to play.

Greenville answered and sealed the win when junior guard Emmalee Fladland, who posted a team high 18 points, netted two clutch free throws with 11.9 seconds to play. Fladland was 5-for-6 from the line Saturday and hit 3-of-7 from three point range.

The Lady Panthers will look to defend H.J. Long Gymnasium against Lincoln Christian Monday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m.
