Women’s Tennis: 2011 Season Preview

Published: April 13, 2021

GREENVILLE, Ill. The womens tennis team is looking to build off last year's second place team finish in the SLIAC tournament and will do so behind head coach Pam Craig and a number of returning players. The ladies look to the season with optimism of another St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament berth and improvement of their overall individual games.

Returning at the top of the rotation for the Lady Panthers in 2011 is sophomore Jamie Harling. Harling, who is the only All-SLIAC choice on the squad, will look to add to last year's honorable mention doubles performance and move into the teams number one spot in both doubles and singles play.

Though the Panthers have lost seven women from last years team, the Lady Panthers have reloaded with some new faces and seem poised to improve and step up. GCs season will be indicative of their ability to move into new roles and play up in the 2011 season matches.

We have a lot of ladies who are really talented this year, said senior Brittany Headrick. Our season will depend on whether we can fill the shoes of last year's girls and move up and play the better competition.

The women will begin the 2011 season with Principia Colleges two-day invitational, traveling to Elsah, Ill., to compete Friday, Feb. 4, and Saturday, Feb. 5.
