Women’s Tennis Pushes Past Eureka 5-4

EUREKA, Ill. GC Womens Tennis 4-8 (3-3 SLIAC) edged the Lady Red Devils of Eureka College 5-4 on Saturday in a tightly contested SLIAC team match. The Lady Panthers split singles play 3-3 with EC, but earned the decision with a 2-1 advantage in doubles action.

In singles, Katie Maurer controlled her match in #3 play with an effort of 6-3, 6-4 to lead the women in the 3-3 split.

In doubles action the combinations of Nathalia Jones and Brittany Headrick, and Avery Cole and Shayla Story, claimed their respective wins 8-3 and 8-4 to give Greenville the slight advantage and the conference win.

GC Womens Tennis will return to the court Monday, April 11, as they face off against Missouri Baptist at home at 4:00 pm.
