Women's Track and Field Compete in NCCAA Championships

ELGIN, Ill.-- The GC Women's Track and Field traveled to Judson to compete in the NCCAA National Championships May 2-4. The team took 18th out of the 24 teams that competed.

Taylor Brunner and Maggie McMurtrey were GC's top finishers in the meet, with each earning two finishes in the top 10 for their respective events.

Brunner came in 6th overall in the Heptathlon-- taking 2nd in the high jump portion, 4th in the long jump, 5th in the javelin, 6th in both hurdles and shotput, and 7th in the 200 and 800m run portions. She also finished 5th in the Javelin throw with a distance of 33.13m.

McMurtrey took 3rd in the Hammer Throw and 9th in the Discus Throw. She threw the hammer 46.30 and launched the discus distance of 37.95.

Haley Fahnstrom also had an impressive meet for GC, coming in 8th in the Hammer with a throw of 40.80m.

The team came in 18th overall, finishing the meet with 15 total points.
