Beginning college is a significant transitional time in the lives of both students and family members. Greenville College sees each student as a person created in God's image, and it is our privilege as administration, faculty and staff to welcome them into our community.  We also recognize this is a pivotal time for family members as they entrust these new students to us.  This service is a time of reflection and transition - a time of beginning and letting go.  To further emphasize the significance of this time, at the conclusion of the service parents and other family members will exit out doors that lead to the parking lot, while students exit out doors that lead onto campus, escorted by faculty and staff.  (note: while this service marks the end of programming for parents, families are encouraged to reunite outside after the service!)
