New Student Orientation - Monday

MONDAY, AUGUST 26, 2013

• 6:00 am to 8:00 am   Pre-Season Athletic Practice

Times to be determined by specific coaches

• 8:00 am to 8:30 am    Breakfast (Armington Dining Commons)

Meet with COR group for Breakfast.

• 8:30 am Experiential Service Learning Project for new students in COR 101 including COR 301. 

Gather with your Faith & Learning Class at Ganton Circle near Armington Center. MANDATORY

Be sure to wear old clothes (including long pants, long socks, and hat) that can get water and mud on them.  Depart for Service Learning Project.  This is a day of service, worship, and community building.  This is an annual tradition that has taken place the last 12 years. Interim President Bergen will be on location along with several faculty and administrators.  No cell phones or portable music listening devices, please.

• 3:00 pm-5:00 pm  Activities at Durley Camp. MANDATORY

Shuttles will pick up new students at the activity site. One of our favorite traditions is the giant water slide. For those who enjoy sports such as basketball and volleyball, you may wish to bring appropriate shoes and please bring a swimsuit (no bikinis please), towel and change of clothes for after water events. No cell phones or portable music listening devices, please.

• 5:00 pm  Dinner at Durley Camp. MANDATORY

• 6:00 pm  First Chapel at Durley Camp Tabernacle MANDATORY

Time of worship and presidential address. Come prepared to worship with our chapel band and hear the heart of our interim president, Dr. Randy Bergen as he shares his vision for your Greenville College experience.
