Urban Plunge invites students to participate in activities that address human and community needs within structured opportunities designed to promote leadership and development. Urban Plunge is a weekend event in St. Louis, MO, and occurs at least once each semester at Greenville College.
This weekend trip is designed to introduce students to the needs and climate of the inner-city through an intentional program of education, observance, service and interaction with community members.
Now in its seventh year, the positive results of Urban Plunge are evident as the participants continue to display new growth and sensitivity as a result of the experience. The weekend allows students experience the inner-city and interact with people in ways that few other experiences could.
The World Outreach and Missions Department partners with Restore St. Louis, an organization under the oversight of New City Fellowship, during Urban Plunge. Restore St. Louis strives to, "promote a network of Christian ministries that desire to show God's love to the poor, widows, orphans, immigrants and refugees of St. Louis."
