Jessica Kizzire teaches Music History and American Popular Music courses as an adjunct faculty member at Greenville College. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in musicology at the University of Iowa, where she also earned her M.A. in horn performance in 2010. When Jessica is not teaching, she works on her dissertation in which she examines the role of music in multimedia adaptations of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. She was awarded The University of Iowa’s Ballard Seashore Fellowship, which allows for dedicated time for the completion of her dissertation work. Jessica’s research interests center on music in popular culture, including music in film and video games, as well as the role of music in the adaptive process. When Jessica is not teaching or researching, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband and daughter.
