Undergraduate Teacher Education Partnerships Overview

Undergraduate Teacher Education Partnership (UTEP) Overview

The Undergraduate Teacher Education Partnership (UTEP) provides a hybrid learning model for students who currently have their associate degree to earn their Elementary Education License in Illinois, as well as their 4-year bachelor’s degree from Greenville University.  Students participate in online coursework while attending face-to-face classroom workshops every other week in the evenings at their local community college buildings.  This format, along with almost 300-hours of field experience in the Elementary classroom, provides hands-on learning that reflects the quality of education that you expect from the Greenville University School of Education.

Currently UTEP is offered at Kaskaskia College (Centralia, IL), Lewis and Clark Community College (Godfrey, IL), Lincoln Land Community College (Springfield, IL), Lincoln Christian University (Lincoln, IL), and Southwestern Illinois College (Belleville, IL).

With the Undergraduate Teacher Education Partnership (UTEP) degree at Greenville University, you’ll:

  • Be prepared for a career in teaching 1st through 6th grade.
  • Learn to teach in culturally diverse classrooms.
  • Learn to create literature rich experiences, while developing character within the classroom.
  • Gain over 300 field experience hours starting your freshman year.
