Men’s Cross Country Competes at Illinois State

NORMAL, Ill. – The Panthers finished 16th out of 32 participating teams at the highly competitive 8K Illinois Intercollegiate Championships on Friday.

Senior Xavier Ortiz headlined the Panthers efforts in Normal, Ill. finishing with a time of 26:15.11 and claiming the 82nd spot overall. Junior Ross Baker also added a nice time to the 16th place GC finish, going 26:24 to finish 94th overall.

Held on the campus of Illinois State University, the meet showcased 323 runners from 32 teams, including nine NCAA Division I programs. 

Men’s cross country will next hit the course Friday, September 23 as they travel to Rock Island, Ill. to take part in the Augustana Brissman-Lundeen Invitational.
