Men's Soccer Continues Win Streak, Beats Iowa Wesleyan

GREENVILLE, Ill.-- The Greenville men were once again victorious, overtaking the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers 3-2.

The first half of the game was scoreless, with GC outshooting their opponents 5-2. The back-and-forth play gave Greenville many chances, but the score remained 0-0 as the team headed to the locker room. GC goalkeeper, Thomas Crown had two saves in the half.

The Panthers Spencer Pulliam was the game's first goal scorer, shooting past the Tigers keeper after a GC corner kick had the ball loose in the box. Sean McQuillan was next to find the back of the net, scoring just three minutes later when Robert Wright threw the ball in and McQuillan headed it past the keeper. Iowa Wesleyan's Christopher Matthews scored in the 56th minute, to bring the score to 2-1 GC. Jacob Krisher answered three minutes later off of a free kick by McQuillan. In the 77th minute, Caio de Costa finished a penalty kick for Iowa Wesleyan bringing the game to its final score of 3-2. Crown finished the game with 12 saves.

Greenville's record is now an impressive 4-0. The Panthers will hit the pitch again at home on Friday night as they take on Austin College at 6:00p.m.
