WHO WE ARE
In partnership with the Student Success office and Residence Life, the Disability Support Service Office of Greenville University seeks to ensure an academic experience free from discrimination for its students living with disabilities. With this understanding, the Disability Support Service (DSS) office works to support students living with disabilities by providing reasonable accommodations in academic spaces and residential spaces.
WHY WE DO
Greenville University believes that God created each of our students to uniquely shape the world. Through an education experience that seeks to focus on development of the whole person, we expect that students will have a thriving higher education experience and come to a knowledge of their full potential in their God-given abilities and individual strengths.
WHAT WE DO
Through provision of documentation concerning individual situations, as well as completion of appropriate paperwork, students can request disability accommodations in the classroom and residential housing that will provide them the access they need for a thriving higher education experience. The DSS office is tasked with reviewing appropriate documentation, determining equitable and reasonable accommodations, and assisting students living with disabilities as they advocate for themselves concerning their approved accommodations in the academic and residential spaces of GU.
