Scholarships are free money, typically connected to performance, be it academic, leadership or some other area. Check out our scholarship and grant offerings to help you calculate how much money your academic achievements will get you.

These scholarships and grants apply only to new students entering Greenville University's traditional, on-campus program during the current academic year. Institutional scholarships are available only to full-time students (enrolled for 12 or more credit hours per semester.)

Trustee's Scholarship

Amount: $14,000 per year

Awarded to first-time freshmen and is renewed annually by staying in good standing with Greenville College and maintaining a 3.0 GPA. President's Scholarship

Amount: $13,000 per year

Dean's Scholarship

Amount: $12,000 per year

Awarded to first-time freshmen and is renewed annually by staying in good standing with Greenville College and maintaining a 3.0 GPA. Recognition Scholarship

Amount: $2,000 - $6,000 per year

Renew annually by staying in good standing with Greenville College and maintaining a 2.5 cumulative GPA. Available to students not eligible for other merit scholarships.

Transfer Scholar

Amount: $10,000 per year

Awarded to first-time transfer students and is renewed annually by staying in good standing with Greenville College and maintaining a 3.0 GPA. To apply, submit official college transcripts with your admission application to the Admissions Office.

Transfer Merit Scholarship

Amount: $10,000 per year

Transfer Honor Scholarship

Amount: $9,500 per year

Awarded to first-time transfer students and is renewed annually by staying in good standing with Greenville College and maintaining a 3.0 GPA. To apply, submit official college transcripts with your admission application to the Admissions Office.

Transfer Achievement Award

Amount: $4,000 per year

Awarded to first-time transfer students not eligible for other transfer merit scholarships, and is renewed annually by staying in good standing with Greenville College and maintaining a 3.0 GPA. To apply, submit official college transcripts with your admission application to the Admissions Office.

Based on what you entered, you don't qualify for a merit-based scholarship. Raising either your ACT/SAT score or your GPA might change that. You may also qualify for need-based financial aid. Contact your admissions counselor if you have questions about other financial aid for which you might be eligible.

About Merit Based Scholarships

  1. Merit Scholarships cannot be stacked or combined with other GU merit based financial aid offerings
  2. The student can choose to accept or reject a scholarship based on receiving a larger scholarship like the McAllaster or Panther Preferred.
  3. The student must apply and be accepted through the regular admissions process.
  4. Some merit scholarships may require the student to live on campus.
  5. Students who make satisfactory academic progress and maintain good standing at GU may renew their scholarship.
  6. The student must be a degree-seeking student.
  7. The student must be enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours per semester).
  8. The combined total of GU scholarships, grants and other tuition related awards, such as MAP, may not exceed the cost of tuition.

Description: Renewed annually by staying in good standing with Greenville University and maintaining a 3.0 GPA. A Boyer Scholarship student must also maintain residency in campus housing. Engineering Honors Scholarship

$19,000 per year First-time freshmen accepted into the Greenville University Engineering Program with an ACT score of 29 or higher (SAT equivalent) and a cumulative high school GPA of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Students with an ACT of 33 or higher qualify for a full tuition scholarship. +

McAllaster Honors Scholarship

$18,500 per year To qualify for the McAllaster Scholars program, students must have a composite ACT score of 27+, a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher, and be in the top ten percent of their graduating class. If students are not in the top ten percent of their graduating class, they must have a GPA of 3.75 or higher. Students with an ACT of 33 or higher qualify for full tuition scholarship. +

Description: Complete 21 hours of honors coursework. A variety of honors courses are offered each semester and during Interterm. All honors courses meet general education requirements. Typically, McAllaster Scholars will take much of their honors course-load during their first two years as they move toward more major-focused work during the Junior and Senior year. Students will write a Departmental Honors Project during the Senior year. The Departmental Honors Project is a capstone research experience within a major discipline. Students will select a research topic and assemble a faculty committee who will guide them in their research and writing. When completed, the project is presented and defended before the Departmental Honors Project committee. Students must maintain residency in campus housing. Learn more about the program here .

Mosaic Diversity Scholarship

$18,000 per year Incoming Freshmen must meet the Mosaic Diversity Scholarship minimum cumulative GPA requirement of 3.00 and a minimum of 22 ACT or 1100 SAT score. +

Description: Students must maintain full-time student status and make satisfactory progress toward completion of a degree objective. Recipients of the scholarship will be expected to participate in the MOSAIC Student Association and in campus community service opportunities to share cultural heritage, special skills and abilities, and diversity experiences. Panther Preferred

Children of Gateway Conference Free Methodist Pastor

$17,600 Must be a child of a Free Methodist pastor of the Gateway Conference. The Gateway conference will contribute an additional $2000 for these students. Students must maintain residency in campus housing. Students must apply to the Gateway Conference office for Conference contribution match. +

$16,000 Must be affiliated with the Free Methodist Church and affiliation must be confirmed by their Pastor. Students should have completed FM Church preparatory-membership class in their affiliation with their local FM Church. +

Description: To qualify for free tuition you must be an Illinois resident, have a zero EFC after filing your FAFSA (verification required), qualify for the MAP Grant, submit the FAFSA before the MAP Grand deadline, still have eligibility for the Pell Grant, have a minimum of 18 on the ACT, and have a minimum high school GPA of 2.5 (or 2.6 as a transfer)

Description: The camp must make a check or money order payable to Greenville University with the student’s name noted on the memo line. Church Partnership Scholarship Program
