Giving Information - The Fund For Educational Excellence

Scott Humphery's GC Story

The annual fund is essential to the health and vitality of the University and its students. Gifts from our alumni and friends impact the College in several ways:

Affordability. Your gifts allow the College to offer one of the most affordable private college tuition rates in the Midwest. The true cost per student of attending Greenville University is much higher than what is covered by student tuition. Gifts from generous alumni and friends reduce the net cost for each student. For example, the College provides scholarships totaling an average of over $9,000 per student.

People. Greenville University's greatest asset is its faculty. These scholars teach, mentor, challenge and nurture our students as they learn to integrate their hearts and minds in service of God's world. Gifts provide the financial assistance to recruit, attract, and retain faculty and equip them to do their work. Over the last year, the college hired seven full-time faculty members. Gifts also enable students to benefit from smaller class sizes. Greenville University currently boasts a student-to-faculty ratio of 12:1.

Programs. Our students are transformed both inside and outside of the classroom. Greenville University's athletics, residence life, student organizations and spiritual formation programs work to integrate student life with learning and faith. Gifts support initiatives to create, maintain, and improve current programs and facilities. For example, donations were recently used to add two “smart” classrooms to Dietzman Center and improve the safety, space and energy-efficiency of Joy Hall through its $3 million renovation.
