Baseball Beats Blackburn at Home

GREENVILLE, Ill.-- The Panthers got an impressive win on their home field, outplaying the Blackburn Beavers and winning with a score 11-6.

Greenville got off to a great start, scoring five runs in the first inning. They followed that up with one run in the second inning, two in the third, and three in the seventh, to win the game 11-6.

The Panthers four different players hit doubles in the game; Cole Lawson had 2, Dathan Berning hit one, Ryan Smith added another for GC, and Dylan Goldsmith earned one. Lawson, Smith, and Adam Wallace each recorded two RBI for Greenville.

Five Panthers pitched for Greenville in the game. Derek Reckmann faced 26 batters in the six innings he was on the mound. Reckmann allowed five hits and three runs. Nick Bifano pitched 1.2 innings for GC, facing 7 batters and allowing one hit. Nathan Garbe, Cody Hintershire and Jesse Sneed also shared time on the mound.

This win moves the team to a record 5-6 (2-1 SLIAC). They will take on Blackburn once again tomorrow in a double-header.
