Combined Greenville and Edwardsville Choirs to Perform Spring Concert on May 3

Greenville College will host choral singers from Bond County High School; Edwardsville High School; Greenville College Chorale, Choir, and Chamber Singers; and members of the Greenville Free Methodist Church Sanctuary Choir for a Spring Choral Concert on Sunday, May 3 at 4:30 p.m. in the Whitlock Music Center on the campus of Greenville College (Greenville, Ill.).The concert, entitled Songs of Spring, Summer, Love and Wholeness, will feature choral music from the British Isles and include compositions by Benjamin Britten, Gustav Holst, Herbert Howells, John Rutter and Ralph Vaughan Williams.

Combined Greenville and Edwardsville Choirs to Perform Spring Concert on May 3Over 100 vocalists ranging in age from high school and college students to retired community members will perform in the event.They are being prepared by several area teachers (Shawn Cox from Bond County High School, Lynda Marshall from Edwardsville High School, as well as Stacey Ritter and Jeff Wilson from Greenville College). Greenville resident Carlo van Ulft, a professional carillonist (Centralia, Ill.), will serve as organist. Ms. Sarah Todd, Piano Instructor at Greenville College, will serve as accompanist.Dr. Jeff Wilson, Director of Choral Activities and Chair of the Department of Music at Greenville College, will conduct the concert.
