Gray and 4x100 meter relay team advance to finals

CANTON, N.Y. -- Both entries from the men's track and field team that competed Thursday at the NCAA national championships advanced to the finals. The 4x100 relay team and Bruce Gray in the 200 moved on to Saturday's competition and will receive All-American distinction.

The relay team led off the day for Greenville. Terran Daniels, Gray, Jonah Peoples, and Jarrid Williams placed second in the second heat, gaining themselves an automatic position in Saturday's finals. They finished in 41.472 seconds, making it into the finals by one thousandth of a second. Greenville's time was the ninth quickest overall in the race, but they moved to the finals as the number two team in their heat.

Gray was second in the third heat of the 200 meter dash, also gaining an automatic spot in Saturday's finals. Gray completed the race in 21.38 seconds, clocking the third best time in the event.

Friday's action will include Gray in the 100 and Andrew Sharp in the 800.
