Gray and Sharp move on in the 100 and 800

CANTON, N.Y. -- The men's track and field team saw senior Bruce Gray and freshman Andrew Sharp advance to the national finals with their performances in the 100 meter dash and 800 meter run, respectively.

Gray won his heat of the 100 meter dash as he was second overall with a mark of 10.76 seconds.

Sharp, running in the nationals for the first time, found himself eighth in his heat over the first 1 1/2 laps, but closed in on his competitors over the last 200 meters to place third in his heat. Sharp finished the 800 in 1:50.76.

Gray will compete in three events -- the 100, 200, and 4x100 meter relay --, and Sharp will run in the 800 on Saturday in the national finals..
