Greenville Choral Union to Begin Rehearsing for 86th Anniversary Season of Community Messiah Performances

The Greenville Choral Union will begin vocal rehearsals for its Eighty-sixth Anniversary Season on Tuesday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m. Singers (high school age and older) are invited to join this fine ensemble. Rehearsals will be held in the James E. Wilson Recital Hall in the Whitlock Music Center on the Greenville College campus located at the corner of College Avenue and Elm Street.

Anniversary Concert Planned

This years concert marks the eighty-sixth performance of George Frideric Handels oratorio Messiah in Greenville. The 110-voice Choral Union and 40-piece orchestra will perform Part 1 of Messiah along with Antonio Vivaldis Gloria on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the Whitlock Music Center Recital Hall at Greenville College. This years presentation will include professional orchestral players from the St. Louis region, members of the Kaskaskia College Concert Choir, and vocal soloists selected from the Greenville Choral Union.
