Greenville College drubs St. Norbert, 12-5

AUBURNDALE, Fla. -- Greenville College pounded St. Norbert on Monday 12-5 at Florida in seven innings.

Greenville College scored five runs in the third on a groundout by Dalton Goldsmith, an RBI single by Hunter Bryan, a two-run double by Mitchell Cernek, and an RBI single by Cole Lawson.

Lawson racked up three RBIs on four hits for Greenville College .

Dylan Bone recorded the win for Greenville College even though he allowed five runs over six innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered eight hits.

The top of the first saw St. Norbert take an early lead, 3-0. Travis Mason doubled, plating Jose Godinez after a double by Godinez got things started. St. Norbert added more runs when Mason scored on an RBI double by Nick Pierre and Pierre scored on an error.

Greenville College scored two runs in the second inning, and then followed it up with two more in the fourth. In the second, Greenville College scored on a two-run single by Lawson, plating Bryan and Adam Wallace.

A clutch passed ball scored Kenny Trager to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Goldsmith's single, scoring Rob Perrine.

Greenville College quickly matched St. Norbert's strong inning with a three-run inning of its own in the sixth. Greenville College scored on an RBI single by Dalton McFarland, an RBI single by Goldsmith, and a sacrifice fly by Jared Souhrada.
