Greenville College smacks three homers, tops St. Norbert, 7-5

AUBURNDALE, Fla. -- Three home runs powered Greenville College 's offense on Monday at Auburndale The blasts carried Greenville College to a 7-5 victory in seven innings over St. Norbert.

Home runs for Greenville College came when Rob Perrine homered in the second inning, Kenny Trager homered in the fourth inning, and Ryan Smith homered in the fourth inning.

Greenville College held off St. Norbert, as St. Norbert was unable to overcome a four-run sixth inning deficit.

St. Norbert scored two runs in the seventh on a two-run home run by Jose Godinez. Still, St. Norbert couldn't draw even.

Trager paced Greenville College at the plate. Trager went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Derek Reckmann got the win for Greenville College . He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out five, walked three and surrendered six hits.

St. Norbert jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Troy Rottier got things going for St. Norbert with a single. A single by Godinez then moved Rottier from first to second.

Greenville College stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the fourth, scoring three runs on an RBI double by Dalton Goldsmith and two solo blasts.

St. Norbert brought home two runs in the fourth inning, and matched that run total in the seventh. In the fourth, St. Norbert scored on a two-run single by Carlos Rodriguez, bringing home Nick Pierre and Bryan Thiessenhusen.

Greenville College piled on two more runs in the top of the sixth. Cole Lawson kicked things off with a single, plating Hunter Bryan.
