Greenville Softball Hosts STRIKEOUT Cancer

Published: April 13, 2021

GREENVILLE, Ill. - Come out to Lady Panther Field on Wednesday as GC Softball hosts their annual Breast Cancer Awareness STRIKEOUT cancer double-dip that will include a 3:00pm battle with Milikin University and a 7:00pm nightcap against Lindenwood University Belleville.

This has become a tradition for GC softball and we are very proud to be hosting this event, remarked head coach and womens administrator Tenequa Martin. The event will showcase some great talent and will raise funds to help fight cancer and build awareness.

Since starting the Strikeout Cancer initiative over ten years ago, NFCA membership teams have raised tens of thousands of dollars to support the fight against cancer. In addition to fundraised dollars, this initiative has provided a platform to raise awareness for breast cancer as well as support for women's cancer research.

The club is offering Strikeout Cancer T-shirts. See a member of the Panther softball team or place an order with the Greenville Athletic Department. They are $10 and all proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. Help the Panthers raise awareness for the fighters, the survivors, and the taken!

GC Softball boasts a record of 13-18 (8-4 SLIAC) and currently sits fourth in the conference. The club is coming of a clutch home performance against Westminster University that saw the Panthers earn an 8-0, 8-7 sweep.
