The GC Womens Soccer Team played their second match of the season against Elmhurst University Monday and, despite their valiant effort, the Panthers fell 3-0.

Elmhurst scored two goals in the first half, the first in the 21st minute by Kristie Waugh and the second in the 33rd minute by Emily Helmerdinger. The Blue Jay's Anna Garritano scored the lone goal of thesecond half to bring the game to it's final score of 3-0.

Greenville had 5 shots on goal in the match and GC 'keeper Heidi Koehl recorded 9 saves. Despite the tough result, the women are looking forward to the rest of the season.

Our team is definitely improving, GC senior, Koehl, explained. Even though we didnt get the result we hoped for, as a group we are starting to click and I know we will continue to persevere and unite together.

The Lady Panthers will look to improve their record on Thursday, September 5 when they take on Benedictine-Springfield in Greenville at 5:00pm.
