Massengill Named SLIAC Hitter of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Greenville College's Jared Massengill has been named the Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of March 12-18.

Massengill, a sophomore shortstop from Neoga, Ill., led the Panthers on offense at the RussMatt Invitational in Winter Haven, Fla. He went 10-for-22 at the plate in seven games played for a .455 average. He also had eight RBI, three doubles and one home run. Massengill tallied at least one hit in each game for Greenville. He went 3-for-5 with one double in a 6-5 loss to Edgewood, and he also went 2-for-4 with two doubles in a 6-2 loss to Anderson (Ind.).

This is Massengills first award of 2012.
