Men's basketball ascends to fourth place in SLIAC with 121-112 win

EUREKA, Ill. -- On a night that saw Greenville senior Tim Daniel score his 1,000th career point, the men's basketball team got 20 points from Daniel and 19 from Daniel Saeli as the Panthers picked up a critical 121-112 win at Eureka.

The win allowed Greenville to pull into a tie for fourth place after obtaining its fourth straight SLIAC win and fourth straight game exceeding 120 points scored.

DeAndre Brown added 17 points, and Shane Smith was right on Brown's heals with 16 points.

Greenville forced 24 Eureka turnovers as the Panther defense accounted for 20 steals.

Hohm had eight of Greenville's steals. He and Brown were GC's top rebounders with seven on the evening.

The Panthers (6-10, 5-4 SLIAC) travel to Webster on Saturday for a game at 3 p.m. as they hope to avenge an early season loss to the Gorlocks and improve their SLIAC position.
