Men's basketball drops first game in Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The men's basketball team allowed a five point halftime deficit to slip away as they lost 122-93 to Central (IA) on Friday. The Panthers were led by newcomer DeAndre Brown and returner Jamal Daniels with 17 points each.

The 55-50 halftime disadvantage got out of hand in the second half as Central posted a 67 point second stanza while limiting Greenville to to 43 points.

Richard Clemons gave the Panthers 15 points, and Tim Daniel added 14 points in the contest.

Greenville was held to less than 100 points for the first time this year and put up 116 shots in the contest.

The Panthers forced 25 Central turnovers while picking up 15 steals.

Greenville's leading rebounder was Daniel with eight. Clemons, Daniels, and Ethan Leib all contributed seven rebounds.

The Panthers (1-4) continue in Nebraska on Saturday when they play Dubuque.
