Men's basketball picks up key road win

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The men's basketball team maintained their conference lead with a 124-99 win at Fontbonne on Wednesday night. Greenville's scoring came from the entire lineup as six players had more than 10 points in the contest.

The Panthers leading scorer was DeAndre Brown with a team-high 22 points.

Jamal Daniels posted 16 points and seven rebounds.

Michael Hohm chipped in 15 points, five assists, and three steals. Leading scorer Tim Daniel was held to 14 points with a team-high four three-pointers.

Kenny Greene and Shane Smith added three steals, and Andrew Scott rounded up 10 rebounds.

Greenville outshot Fontbonne in every area as the Panthers made 44.4 percent of its field goal attempts, 32.7 percent of three pointers, and 70.6 percent of its free throws.

The Panther defense lured Fontbonne into committing 25 turnovers, while Greenville only had nine.

Greenville pushed it's advantage to 30 points with 2:16 remaining in the game.

The Panthers (11-11, 10-5 SLIAC) travel to Principia on Saturday. Greenville is knotted up with MacMurray for the first place position in the SLIAC standings with three games to play.
