Men's Basketball sends Blue Jays home with the blues

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's basketball team stayed on top of the SLIAC standings with a 73-62 win over Westminster on Saturday. Junior Andrew Scott produced 16 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

Just as they did on Thursday, the Panthers put up 10 points before their opponent scored. This time the effort led to a 13-0 lead six minutes into the game.

Westminster wouldn't back away, eventually taking a 29-27 lead into halftime.

Greenville was able to push its lead back up to 11 quickly in the second half and held on to the win.

Greenville outshot Westminster as the Panthers made 27-of-51 shots at a 52.9 percent clip. Westminster could only muster making 32.3 percent of its shot attempts.

Greenville also hit 5-of-12 three pointers and 14-of-22 free throws.

Brian Ehresman had 11 points for Greenville.

Tim Daniel passed out six assists. Ehresman and Michael Hohm each had five assists.

Ron Harris and Nick Trisko came up with seven rebounds each.

The Panthers (4-3, 2-0 SLIAC) travel to Millikin on Monday.
