Men's basketball topped in OT

GREENVILLE, Ill. --The men's basketball team was hurt by poor shooting as they were defeated 71-68 by Fontbonne in overtime on Wednesday. Andrew Scott posted 14 points in the contest.
Fontbonne slipped ahead of Greenville early in the second half, and it took a three-pointer by Tim Daniel to tie the game at the end of regulation. Stevonte Young made a three pointer at the end of overtime to even up the score, but a three-pointer by Blake Welch with 8 tenths of a second remaining gave Fontbonne the win.
Ron Harris totaled 11 points and 12 rebounds in his sixth double-double of the season. Elmo Smith chipped in 12 points.
The Panthers (11-9, 8-5 SLIAC) travel to Eureka on Saturday. The Panthers hold a half game lead over Fontbonne and are now fourth in the conference standings.
