Men's Indoor Track and Field Competes in Titan First Chance Meet

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.--The Greenville men's track and field team traveled to Illinois Wesleyan University in their first meet of the 2013-2014 season. The team had a number of impressive performances, including a first place finish by Josh Kuusisto.

Kuusisto, a senior from Show Low, Ariz., earned Greenville's only 1st place finish in the weight throw. He recorded a distance of 17.49 meters.

Freshman, Jonah Peoples, had an excellent start to his college career, taking 2nd place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.70. He also finished 5th in the long jump, landing at 6.29 meters.

Bruce Gray, a junior sprinter, earned a third place finish in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.051, beating fellow GC teammate Ryan St. Hill by only .008. St. Hill captured the fourth place finish. Gray also came in 4th in the 300 meter dash, with a time of 36.41.

Bryan Waugh and Dmitri Holman also had noteworthy performances. Waugh competed in the weight throw and his 14.25 meter loft earned him 4th place. Holman ran in the 60 meter dash and took home a 6th place finish with a time of 7.15.

The team will return to competition on Saturday, January 18, after the holidays, when they travel to EIU for the John Craft Meet.
