GREENVILLE, Ill. --The men's soccer team got two goals and an assist from Jonny Madrid and two goals from Elliot Thompson as they cruised to a 9-1 victory against Robert Morris - Springfield on Thursday.

Greenville dominated play as they peppered RMUS goalkeeper David Heeps with 49 shots, 26 of which were on goal.

"Tonight was a good opportunity for us to bounce back from Tuesday's game," said head coach Chris Swift. "We talked and emphasized dynamic movement in the attack, and we saw a lot of that tonight. Overall, I was really pleased with the quality of the goals we scored, and it could have been more if not for the great job in goal by Heeps. He was absolutely fantastic tonight."

The Panthers' other goal scorers included Josh Ripperger, Justin Mulholland, Brent Lehr, Caleb Mulholland, and Charles Dalton.

Caleb Mulholland produced two assists, and teammates Ripperger, Edgar Bueno, and Parker Wray.

Ian Hodge picked up one save as Greenville's goalkeeper.

"Now we have to get ready for a tough Spring Arbor team on Saturday," said Swift. "We showed improvements going forward tonight, and now we are going to have to show improvement in our back line. If we can put it all together Saturday, it promises to be a very exciting match."

The Panthers (1-1) face the Cougars on Saturday at 7 p.m.
