GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's tennis team picked up a solid 5-4 win over Concordia (WI), a 2015 NCAA Division III national tournament qualifier. Greenville won two of the three doubles matches and split the singles contests.

On a windy day, the Panthers showed a lot of toughness battling the forceful winds.

"It was a real team effort," said head coach Brett Brannon. "We had to pull Justin Tilford out of singles because of a shoulder injury, and that weakened our singles lineup."

Code Power and Jonathan Urshan fought off two match points at No. 2 doubles to secure their 9-7 win.

No. 3 doubles duo of Chris Heckman and Blake Gocey dominated their competition with an 8-2 win.

No. 1 singles competitor Nate Wieland took a 7-6, 6-4 win at the top of the lineup as his match gave Greenville it's fifth triumph of the match.

Power gained a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles, and Gocey took a 6-0, 6-2 win in No. 4 singles.

The Panthers (9-3) travel to Webster for a 6 p.m. match on Tuesday night.
