Men's track and field places fourth in NCCAA championships

ROME, Ga. - The men's track and field team racked up 59 points to earn the fourth place position for the third consecutive year at the NCCAA outdoor national championships.

The Panthers had a number of entries who had third place marks.

Andrew Sharp completed the 800 meter run in third with a time of 1:53.91.

Nathan Allyn, Nathan Potts, Parker Wray, and Sharp teamed together in the 4x800 for third place with a time of 7:39.63.

Jarrid Williams produced a pair of third place performances in the long jump with a distance of 23-8.75 and in the triple jump as he leapt 45-10.5.

Phil Wilsman bettered his previous best by 30 feet in the javelin to hit a distance of 183-10 in his third place finish.

Ryan Burgess was fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 161-9.

The Panthers will conclude their qualification efforts for the NCAA national championships with last chance meets next week.
