Men's Basketball Tops Fontbonne 76-63; Reaches First SLIAC Tournament Since 1999

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's basketball team pulled away at the end for an impressive 76-63 win over FontbonneWednesday night. K.J. Hilliard posted a team-leading 22 points with Obinna Agomo adding 11 points of his own. The win allowed Greenville to qualify for its first SLIAC tournament since1999. Seedings and pairing for the tournament will be announced in one week.
Jonas McBride had a very well rounded game for the Panthers with eight points, four steals, and five assists. Andy Traeger led the team in rebounding with six. As a team, Greenville shot 77 percentfrom the line, had 12 steals, and only turned the ball over 10 times for the game.
The men's basketball team improved to 8-6 in the SLIAC and 12-10 overall. Webster University is next for the Panthers as they travel to St. Louis for a 3p.m tipoff on Saturday.
