Published: April 13, 2021

The Greenville College Men's Cross Country team is back and ready to have another successful season. After placing second in the SLIAC last fall and finishing in 19th place at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional, the Panthers are ready to complete again this season.

Coach Brian Patton, is back and ready to lead the GC men through another successful season. "We have a strong group of seniors that will lead us this season," Patton says.

Among those seniors is Ross Baker. Baker was a member of the First Team All-Confrence and stood out as a true competitor last season. Junior, Bryant Simpson is another returning runner that was First Team All-Conference last fall. He is expected to have another impressive season for GC. Also returning for the Panthers is Senior Josh Dees who was named to the Second Team All-Conference. These three men will undoubtedly help the team be successful this year and there is a group of young runners that will challenge for the top spots on the team as well. "I am excited to see them run," Patton explains.

The Panthers are looking forward to a competitive schedule this year. The men start their season Friday, August 31 with a meet at 6:00pm at Forest Park in St. Louis. Mo. Despite the schedule, the men are excited for the season. Patton explains, "We are going to enjoy ourselves and have a lot of fun."
