Men’s Cross Country Takes Eighth at Washington University

ST. LOUIS - The men's cross country team traveled to Washington University, Saturday, Sept. 4, where they competed against a host of competition in an 18-team field.

The men had a strong showing with all five scoring runners placing in the top 65. Their performance earned them 225 points, and placed them eighth overall.

Senior Coree Woltering (Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa), who placed 21st overall in the contest, led the Panthers in their first meet with a time of 20:07 in the 6K race. The squad was also aided by performances from senior Cole Prins (Erie, Ill./Erie), and junior Leo Pathy (Palos Hills, Ill./AA Stagg) placed in the top 50 respectively.

The Washington University Early Bird had 209 male finishers, and showcased a variety of universities in its 18 team field.

The men's team will travel to Illinois State University for their next meet. The Illinois State Illinois Intercollegiate Championships will take place Friday, Sept. 17, and will be the second contest for the men's cross country team.
