TERRE HAUTE, Ind. GC senior David Dunlop netted a brilliant breakaway goal to deliver the Panthers a 2-1 road win against Rose-Hulman on Tuesday night.

Dunlops score marked his second of the game, and helped Greenville claim their fourth win of 2011. Dunlops first goal came at 17:53 on a well-timed pass from freshman David Cole and gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead heading into intermission.

In the 63rd minute of second period play the Engineers answered with a breakaway goal of their own that edged past GC senior keeper Nathan Haas and equalized the margin at 1-1. The final minutes of regulation showcased a defensive battle from both sides, and the game was forced into overtime sessions.

Dunlop finalized the match in the 94th minute of 2OT, burying his shot past RH keeper Eric Davenport. The senior finished with two goals on three shots, while fellow teammate Cole notched an assist in the win.

Defensively the Panthers shined despite being outshot 13-6 in Tuesday nights tilt. Haas was strong in net, denying five chances and allowing only one goal.

With the victory GC mens soccer advances to 4-3-3 (1-0 SLIAC) and will return to the pitch Saturday, October 1 as they host conference foe Spalding at noon.
