Men's Tennis Earns Another Win

HILTON HEAD, S.C.-- The Panther Men took to the court for an early 8 AM match on Wednesday morning in Hilton Head. Coming off of a very tough loss on Tuesday afternoon, the Panthers were looking to get back on the winning track. This time the opponent would be Edgewood College.

The Panthers came out strong in doubles. Ryan Haas and Demetrius Bush won for the 5th straight time at #3 doubles with a score of 8-4. Alex Dowley and Jordan Tingle closed out the #2 match with a score of 8-5. The #1 team of Drew Herlein and Jon Urshan completed the sweep of doubles as they fought off match points against them to clinch the victory 9-8.

In singles, the Panthers were able to gain four victories. Demetrius Bush won at #6 singles 6-0, 6-4. Ryan Haas came back from a slow start to earn the victory at #5 singles 1-6, 6-4, 10-7. Alex Dowley made quick work of his opponent at #4 singles 6-1, 6-1. Jordan Tingle closed out the last victory for the Panthers with a 6-1, 6-0 decision. This gave the Panthers the team win with a score of 7-2.

GC now stands at 4-2. Following a day off on Thursday, the Panthers will take on Mt. Union to wrap up their Spring Break trip on Friday morning at 8am.
