#GivingTuesday GU: Moriah Summers '23I choose GU, where people understand and appreciate "calling" and "worship."

Moriah Summers 23 knew she wanted to attend GU after her first campus visit. She loved the community. She felt at home. She wanted a Christian school.

One problem blocked her path: finances. Moriah doubted her ability to pay for four years of college. She turned to the Lord in prayer.

I started to pray for God to make a way, she says.

God used the generosity of donors to prepare the way for Moriah. She discovered the Panther Preferred Scholarship, which offers considerable awards for students who demonstrate excellent character and academic determination. She applied and secured a scholarship.

I knew that God had answered my prayer, she says.

Today, Moriah remains grateful for the chance to strengthen her faith at a Christian institution, and also for the opportunity to equip herself for future ministry as a missionary and worship arts leader. She prepares for that future by participating in GUs worship band, Pursuit, and through helping with Vespers. Without my time here at Greenville, I do not think that I would have as strong of a faith as I do now, she says.

Moriah has a message for donors: Thank you for all that you do to help students like me be able to come to GU and better themselves, both spiritually and educationally.
