Panther Basketball Earns First Conference Win

ELSAH, Ill.-- The GC Men's Basketball team defeated SLIAC opponent, Principia, 92-78 in their first Conference game of the season.

GC offense was led by junior guard, Daniel Anderson, who contributed 23 of the Panther's 92 points. Alex Mumphard also came out strong, adding 18 points and grabbing 4 offensive rebounds for Greenville. 

Defensively, Tevin Rollins paved the way for the Black and Orange, recording 10 rebounds, 2 blocks, and a steal in the game. MarQuel Jones was also impressive in the back court, as he was credited with 4 steals and 8 total rebounds.

Principia was led by the trio of Damon Wilgus, Larry Patterson, and Kenny Sydness. Wilgus recorded 21 points, Patterson added 19 points and 7 steals, and Sydness was credited with 10 points and 6 rebounds.

This win brings the team's record to 5-0 (1-0 SLIAC). The men take the home court on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 3:00pm, when they take on Webster.
