GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The softball team ran into No. 18 Washington University and lost 9-0 and 6-1 to the nationally ranked Bears.

Game 1 Recap

Bryn McKie's leadoff double was the extent of the offense Greenville could muster as they were shutdown in a complete game one-hitter.

Washington produced single runs in the second and third innings to take a 2-0 lead. They pushed across seven runs over the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings against a tiring Cayla Speaks.

Speaks took the loss in the circle for Greenville as she threw all seven innings and gave up nine runs, eight earned, on 11 hits.

Game 2 Recap

The Lady Panthers carried a 1-0 lead into the fourth inning as Brianna Anderson shut down the Washington bats, but Washington pushed across two runs in the fourth and three in the fifth to take control of the game as they won 6-1.

McKie and Tiffany Samsoe each tallied two hits for Greenville.

Andrea Martin produced an RBI single.

Anderson went all seven innings, giving up six runs, four earned, on seven hits and three walks.

The Lady Panthers (12-14-1) host SLIAC leader Eureka on Saturday at home.
