Softball Loses Both to Spalding

GREENVILLE, Ill.--The GC Softball team lost both games in their home double-header against SLIAC Spalding, 11-5, 2-0.

Hannah Burger and Jessica Laubecher pitched the first game for the Panthers, with Burger recording the loss. Burger faced 27 batters in the five innings she pitched and allowed 9 hits and 7 runs. Shannon Elbe and Darci Sample each hit a double for GC. Elbe and Andrea Martin both had 2 RBI and, and Jessica Laubecher recorded one. The game ended 11-5 favoring the away team. 

The second game also went to Spalding, this time with a final score of 2-0. The game stayed tied at 0-0 until the Eagles scored in the sixth inning and then again in the seventh. Ashley Woodrome pitched the entire game for the Panthers. She faced 28 batters and gave up 5 hits and allowed two runs in the game.

The team will play again tomorrow, April 6, when they face Principia at home.
