Volleyball Falls in 5 Set Battle Against Spalding

NEW ALBANY, Ind.--The Greenville College Volleyball team took on Spalding on the road and lost their first Conference match of the season. The match went into five sets with GC losing 3-2.

GC lost the first set 23-25, won the second set 25-20, took the third set 25-22, fell in the fourth set 23-25, and lost the final set 11-15.

Corinne Coon and Nicole Schaeffer led the Panthers in the match. Coon recorded 16 kills, 15 digs, and two aces, scoring a total of 19.5 points for GC. Schaeffer was credited with 13 kills, one ace, and 11 digs, contributing 14 points.

Ellen Lueking and Jamie Schollenbruch were also strong for the Panthers. Lueking had 39 assists for Greenville and Schollenbruch recorded 16 digs.

This loss brings the Lady Panthers' record to 20-5 (13-1 SLIAC). The team will take on Fontbonne later today in their next match.
