Volleyball Pushes Conference Record to 8-0 with Pair of Wins

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The volleyball team swept matches 3-0 against MacMurray and Eureka on Saturday to up their perfect SLIAC record to 8-0.
In thematch against MacMurray, GC won 25-7, 25-23, and 25-18. The Lady Panther offense was impressive and the team posted40 total kills. Corinne Coon had 10 kills and Tricia Gall added another 9 for GC. Marissa Erwin also recorded an impressive 8 kills. Gall also had 5 service aces. Defensively, Greenville recorded 5 blocks. Jamie Schollenbruch was credited with 15 digs for GC and Ansley DeVrieze added 10 more.
The Lady Panthers played just as well when they took onEureka. They swept the three sets with scores of 25-17, 25-11, and 25-15. GC recorded 36 kills and came up with 41 total digs. Marissa Erwin lead GC with 6 kills and Gall, DeVrieze, Con, and Nicole Schaffer each added three kills for the Panthers. Ellen Lueking had 33 assists in the match. Schaffer and Scholenbruch each added 10 digs for Greenville in the match.
The victories improved Greenville's record to 12-6. They return to action Saturday as they host Confrence opponents Fontbonne and Blackburn.
