Published: April 13, 2021

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The volleyball team continued its assault on the conference as they took a three-set win over Webster on Tuesday night in Greenville. After tight two-point and four-point battles in the first two sets, Greenville took control of the match in the third set and posted a solid 25-14 winning score.

With the win, Greenville improved its record to 22-5 (15-1 SLIAC) while dropping Webster to 21-8 (13-2). Greenville now holds its conference fate exclusively in its hands as wins over Eureka and MacMurray would give the Panthers its first outright league championship and its third number one seed in the conference tournament in the last four years.

Senior Corinne Coon and junior Nicole Schaeffer were Greenville's offensive stars as they each posted a match-high 13 kills. Ellen Lueking piled up 44 assists.

The defensive efforts were led by Jamie Schollenbruch who collected 16 digs. Coon was also solid on the defensive side of the ball as she tallied 10 digs, one solo block, and two block assists.

The Panthers return to action Friday night in St. Louis when they play Buffalo State at Washington University. They play in Greenville on Saturday against Eureka.
