Women's basketball holds off Fontbonne

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's basketball team received 21 points from Taylor Paulin as they took a 79-68 win over Fontbonne on Wednesday night.
Greenville shot well in the game, hitting better than 50 percent of their shots. Their mark of 30-for-59 was good for 50.8 percent. The Lady Panthers made seven three-pointers, led by Paulin's four, and 12-of-19 free throws.
Greenville led 41-34 at the halftime intermission.
Joining Paulin as point leaders were Laura Goodnight with 13 points and Missy Deal with 10.
Claire Schmitt picked up six assists and five rebounds, tying Deal for the rebounding lead.
Coley Baker provided three blocked shots and three steals, while Kelly Lenz had four steals.
The Lady Panthers (9-10, 6-7 SLIAC) travel to Eureka to play Saturday at 1 p.m.
